Lord Kelvin

World-famous scientist Lord Kelvin (center) visits the Westinghouse Company, August 1897. At first opposed to AC, he later stated he had become thoroughly convinced that the polyphase transmission scheme was practicable, and that he would reccommend it rather than the direct current scheme he had originally advocated.
